Vaginoplasty

This is a procedure that aims to tighten up the vagina that has become slack or loose from vaginal childbirth or aging. This can be accomplished with or without labiaplasty.

Reasons for vaginoplasty

After childbirth, the vagina can become very loose due to the stretching and separation of muscles.

Lack of tone contributing to sexual dysfunction.

Lack of tone in vagina, unable to hold tampon in the vagina.

What does vaginoplasty do?

Vaginoplasty brings the separated muscles together. It also removes the excessive vaginal mucosa and gives the vagina a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

How the vaginoplasty procedure works

This procedure is done in the office under local anesthesia. The level of tightness will be determined at your initial consultation with Dr. Hardas.

During the procedure, this will be checked and confirmed again. Markings are made on the posterior of the vagina, after determining the exact amount of tissues to be removed. Beneath the skin, tissue and muscles are tightened with strong sutures. The vaginal mucosa is then sutured with delicate sutures. Excessive skin at the opening of the vagina can also be removed to give more aesthetically pleasing results.
